A “cookie” is a piece of software, which may be sent to your computer. Cookies enable us to collect information about how our web sites and services are being used and to manage them more efficiently. Until you have registered on IRISOS web sites, the cookie will only track general usage patterns and technical information about your computer type and will not be used to identify you individually. After registration, cookies will be used to collect information on you as described in “Personal Information IRISOS collects”. You can turn off the ability to receive cookies by adjusting the browser in your computer but you should note that if you do so, this may materially distort the quality of service and data you receive. You therefore do this at your own risk. IRISOS also uses agents with your computer to assist with our diagnosis of technical problems and therefore to obtain information about software versions installed and data transmitted, for software compliance purposes and for you/your company to receive software updates, new releases or additional software. Sometimes you can refuse or remove these agents but that means you will not receive this additional software and may suffer service problems and you may lose all rights to support. IRISOS does not create or maintain “Log Files”.

Clarification: With every WEB page consultation, an exchange of information between our servers and your internet explorer takes place. The most common information exchanged is: type and version of internet explorer used, date and time of the visit, page requested for viewing purposes, quantity of information transmitted, etc.

It can be that IRISOS may analyses temporarily trends in the usage of our Web Site with the aim to improve service quality and accessibility. If such is being done, a prior notice is being made available on our Web site.

Transparent GIF files:

In addition to our own cookies, we use pixels, or transparent GIF files, on our sites to help manage our online advertising and email marketing. These GIF files are provided by one or more third-party service providers, based on our specification as to where they are used. The files enable our service providers to recognize a unique cookie in your Web browser, which in turn enables us and our services providers to learn which advertisements and emails bring you to our website and how you use the site.

Examples of the ways in which IRISOS and our third party service providers use GIF files include:

Tracking customer response to advertisements, emails and site content

Determining your ability to receive HTML-based email messages. This capability helps us or our service providers send you email in a format you can read

Knowing how many users open an email and allowing our service providers to compile aggregated statistics about an email campaign for us

Allowing us to better target interactive advertising; enhancing customer support and site usability; and providing offers and promotions that we believe would be of interest to you

To conduct these or other activities, we or our service providers sometimes may link personal information you previously have provided us (such as, for example, your name, e-mail address, and the edition of our product that you purchased) to the information the GIF files provide about how you arrive at, navigate through, and leave our sites.

 Billing:

We may occasionally join with other reputable companies to provide users with third party products and services. We will notify you at the time that you sign up for these products or services and that these third parties will obtain personally identifiable information to provide the requested products or services. This Privacy Statement does not cover these companies’ use of the information.

In particular, we contract with other companies to provide limited services to us or on our behalf, such as billing or customer support services. When we do so, we provide these companies with only limited access to personally identifiable information. In the case of payment through Credit Cards, IRISOS has outsourced this process and does not retain any personal card details.
